Fn layer or dedicated keys?

On a 60%, arrows, Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down usually sit on an Fn layer. A well-designed keymap keeps them close to the home row, so you can navigate without moving your right hand.

That workflow is fast once it becomes muscle memory, but it asks you to learn or edit the keymap. Check the keyboard's remapping software to place these keys where they work best for your workflow.

The TOFU65 3.0 keeps the arrow cluster within easy reach, along with quick access to your preferred navigation keys. You still get a compact board, but common shortcuts behave the way they do on a larger layout.

For coding, spreadsheets, timelines, or any workflow with frequent cursor movement, that direct access is often worth the extra width.

What you need for a Wooting 60HE build

To install a compatible Wooting 60HE, 60HE+, or 60HE V2 module in the TOFU60 3.0, the case alone is not enough. The conversion requires three specific KBDfans parts.

      All three are required. Missing any one of them will prevent the intended installation.

There is no useful winner based on layout alone. Plate material, mount, switches, keycaps, case foam, stabilizer tuning,
and desk surface all change the sound more than the extra 65% keys do.

No. The TOFU65 is easier to live with if you need dedicated arrows and navigation keys.
The TOFU60 is the better fit for an established 60% keymap or a smaller footprint.

Is a 60% or 65% layout better for a first custom keyboard?

A 65% is usually the easier first build because the arrow cluster remains on the base layer.
