PBTfans Reel to Reel is a keycap set inspired by the classic TASCAM-52 reel ro reel tape recorder, paying homage to the golden age of analog audio equipment.
Retro Color Palette
The keyset features three primary tones: beige, ochre, and dark brown—drawn from the tape recorder's casing and magnetic tapes. These colors aim to evoke a strong sense of nostalgia and vintage charm.
Design of Novelties
· Iconic Elements: Incorporates functional key names such as REPROCESS and SYNCHRONIZE, directly inspired by the TASCAM-52’s interface.
· Playback Symbols: Includes graphical representations of playback buttons, adding a nostalgic and functional touch.
· Iconic Shift Keys: The standout feature is the design of the SHIFT keys, where a transparent material ingeniously replicates the dual VU meters of the recorder, allowing these classic elements to be rediscovered in everyday typing.
